I have always been drawn to Thailand and after hearing about Care for Dogs from a past volunteer in Byron Bay, Australia, Chiang Mai seemed the obvious next stop. To simply be able to do service to these wonderful friends alongside pursuing my singing here in CM is a dream come true! My mantra when I see someone I can help has got to be: ‘Saving one dog won’t change the world but surely, the world will change for that one dog’, thankfully they are saving my life too – the joy they bring me is immense. |

I visited the centre regularly cuddling, grooming and playing with the lovely creatures. They loved the attention and in some cases it was wonderful to see the transformation from frightened dogs into happy animals, always ready with a wag and a friendly nuzzle. I recommend anyone who loves animals to visit the centre, I know I definitely will next time I am in Chiang Mai. [More ...] |

There are so many dogs in CFD and they all want to cuddle and play with you. It is almost as if they realize which horrific lifestyle they have been saved from and all they want to do is wag their tail and thank you for caring for them. [More ...] |

I was sad to see that people in the north of the country don’t appear to treat their dogs and cats any better than their counterparts in the south. Poisoning happens here too, and I’ve had to make emergency runs to vets with animals that have been run over and some of these from temples, where despite being busy with people, many just ‘turn a blind eye’ to their suffering. As long as I can occasionally take distance from it all and do other things with my life, I’m glad to be able to offer some help. I certainly couldn’t live with myself if I did nothing |
